CPU is the core of the computer, processing a lot of data, so the work of CPU has to have a lot of current. The general CPU power supply is derived from the PWM switching power supply step-down, consisting of power management chips, MOS tubes (two or more), inductors and capacitors, and multi-phase power supply, as shown in figure 1.

The multi-phase PWM circuit is used in CPU power supply. At present, the circuit structure of CPU core power supply is as follows. # the first structure consists of a power management chip and a MOS transistor to form a step-down circuit, as shown in fig. 2. Power management chip internal integrated driver, the power management chip directly control the MOS tube step-down, the object is shown in figure 1.Power management chips are common with ISL series of ISL6566. ISL6312, L6 series L6703, L6704. L6713. L6714, L6717, etc.
The second structure consists of a power management chip, a driver chip, and a MOS transistor to form a step-down circuit, and the structure diagram is shown in fig. 3. The driver is not integrated inside the power management chip and consists of two chips, as shown in figure 4. Common power management chips are RT8802, RT8800, 1SL6323, common driver chips are RT9605, RT9619, RT9603 and so on.

The third structure is composed of a power management chip and a DRMOS to form a step-down circuit, the structure diagram is shown in fig. 5, and the physical object is shown in fig. 6. DRMOS internal integrated driver and MOS tube, can directly output CPU power supply, commonly seen in the high-end MSI motherboard CPU power supply circuit, commonly used power management chip ISL6333A.
